Personal Training Services

Introducing any major change into our daily lives can be very challenging. Sometimes when making any major lifestyle change it helps to have a personal trainer. She will get you motivated, she will have you start thinking about your goals, and she will develop and take you on a journey of learning, adopting and experiencing the benefits from your efforts.

One of the best ways to keep muscles healthy and strong is through strength training or resistance training. Studies have shown that done regularly, strength training builds bone and muscle, and helps to preserve strength, independence, and energy. In fact, people with health concerns – such as Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Obesity and Back Pain often benefit the most from an exercise and lifestyle program designed specifically for them. No matter where you are now with your health, you do not have to get weaker , less movement, or more dependent; start a actively ageing training program today and make it a part of your life so you can begin enjoying it.

Changing food behaviour is successful when the information and action meets the personal goals and lifestyle of an individual. Learning and understanding the process of nutrition; which foods you select and what they will provide the body is essential for successful and healthful ageing.

Cathie Hunt

Active Ageing Specialist

Cathie Hunt
My passion for a healthful strong being started very early in my life; being involved in one of the very first on-site corporate fitness programs. The results of the 2-year program pointed to an improvement in an employee’s overall wellness and productivity. At that time, as an employee, I volunteered to be an instructor; to demonstrate, educate and communicate the benefits of fitness and health. Since that time, I have maintained a strong connection with my own active ageing; completing a BSc Nutrition, BEd Adult Learning, active member of CanFitPro, – PTS and FIS certifications, BoneFit™ Instructor – Osteoporosis Canada, CCAA-SFIC – Western University, DTS L1 – Darby Training Systems, TRX suspension training, St Johns First Aid, a yoga practice of 25 years, along with a 17 year career in the medical health industry. My journey continues with a focused effort in providing my wisdom with you; let us benefit from active ageing together.

BoneStrong training ....these classes are very innovative and Cathie has amazing energy, tons of knowledge, a clear and fun instruction style. I look forward to each class and always seem to learn a thing or two about keeping my body mobile, strong, and flexible. Since attending Cathie's classes I have improved my overall strength, especially my upper body and ankles. I attend her small group BoneStrong training program, I feel the individual attention to my specific body needs is top of her mind always. Awesome classes!

After more than 2 years, I still look forward to participating in Cathie’s 3 weekly BoneHealth/Bone Strong sessions. Her sense of humour makes these classes very enjoyable; her extensive background in physical health and fitness provide informative and safe classes. I especially like the ways she adapts her sessions to meet the specific needs of individuals in her group. I feel stronger, more flexible, healthier and better informed as a result.

I now participate in her ongoing virtual, at home BoneStrong small group training sessions. Cathie's wealth of knowledge in physical health and fitness allows her the flexibility to make her classes safe, by adapting to the specific needs of the participants.Cathie has a great sense of humour. She inspires and motivates her participants. After a workout with Cathie I feel energized, stronger and more informed. Cathie, I like how you turn the "can not" into "I can". Thank you.
